ANTI DRUG AWARENESS CLASS @GHSS PEROORKADA

Today, we, the B.Ed. trainees from Mar Theophilus Training College, conducted an impactful anti-drug awareness class for the 9A students. The session, held at 2 PM with the headmistress's permission, focused on the adverse effects of drug use, particularly on the brain and cognitive functions. We emphasized the importance of choosing freedom from drugs and took a collective pledge to support a drug-free lifestyle.

To engage the students further, we introduced a caption writing competition based on a picture shown on the smart board. The program was a fruitful endeavor, sparking meaningful conversations and reflections among the students.

Today, the students of Govt. GHSS Peroorkada spearheaded a powerful anti-drug awareness campaign. Teachers shared impactful stories and anecdotes about the dangers of drug abuse, while students captivated everyone with skits, dances, and songs promoting a drug-free lifestyle. The event culminated in a collective pledge, reinforcing their commitment to saying no to drugs.

It was a wonderful and inspiring start to the day, reflecting the school’s dedication to addressing important social issues and fostering a positive community spirit.

Today marked our first observation, with Maya Mam, who teaches us Philosophy, attending my class. I took on the chapter effectively over half a day, and the children were very active and energetic throughout the lesson. Maya Mam provided positive and encouraging feedback, which was truly uplifting. It was a rewarding experience, and I’m grateful for the support and constructive remarks.

Before heading off to college today, I made sure to take a photo with my mom—my pillar of strength and everything. Her support has been unwavering, and it's moments like these that remind me of how blessed I am to have her by my side. I truly believe that being happy is the key to success, and with her in my life, I feel ready to take on anything.

Embracing Innovation: Teaching with Smart Boards and AI

At Govt. GHSS Peroorkada, three classrooms were recently upgraded with smart boards to enhance the learning experience, originally intended for the newly admitted 11th-grade students. However, since their classes haven’t commenced yet, one of these high-tech rooms was temporarily assigned to my class, 9C. I was thrilled to have this opportunity and made full use of the smart boards and AI technology to enrich my teaching.

Today, I introduced my students to Salvador Dalí's iconic painting, The Persistence of Memory. Through this lesson, I aimed to teach them about the impermanence of time and the non-linear aspects of time and life. The experience was incredibly rewarding, and the positive feedback from my students made it even more fulfilling. It’s amazing how technology can bring art and complex concepts to life in the classroom, making learning both engaging and impactful.

Embracing the Future: Integrating AI into the Classroom

Integrating AI into education is becoming a game-changer, and I recently had the opportunity to dive into this trend by attending an AI workshop. I learned about several tools that I couldn't wait to bring into my classroom. Today, during a substitution period, I decided to try out ARLOOPA on the smart board. The reaction from my students was beyond anything I expected—they were absolutely thrilled! It was a perfect example of how AI and augmented reality can transform learning experiences, making them more engaging and interactive.

To add to the fun, I played the song "Let It Go" from *Frozen*, which is one of my all-time favorites. The students loved it, and it brought a light-hearted and joyful energy to the day. It was one of those different, fun days that remind me why I love being a teacher. Watching my students’ excitement and curiosity unfold as they experienced these new tools made the day truly special.

Chasing Dreams: The First Day of My Second Teaching Internship

Today marked the beginning of the second phase of my teaching practice, and I was filled with so much happiness and excitement! There's something incredibly fulfilling about stepping into the classroom, ready to teach, explore, and be with my students. This journey is not just about imparting knowledge but also about learning and unlearning, growing alongside my kids, and embracing every moment.

To make this day even more special, I decided to wear my mom's saree—a beautiful piece that’s 28 years old. I absolutely love the color, and wearing it felt like carrying a piece of my mom's love and legacy with me. Before I headed out, my mom captured the first picture of the day. Though it turned out a bit blurry, it’s a moment I’ll cherish forever. With her love and support, I’m off to chase my dreams, eager to see where this journey takes me.

Embracing the Challenge: The Second Turn of My Teaching Internship

Today marks the beginning of the second turn of my teaching internship, and I couldn’t be more excited! Along with my fellow interns, Soja and Arya, I’ve been assigned to Govt. GHSS Peroorkada, the same school where we completed our first round. Returning to this familiar environment feels comforting, especially since my health issue meant I could continue at the same school—a decision I’m truly grateful for.

Our first day was all about getting back into the groove. We collected our timetables, met with our supervising teachers, and received our class assignments. I’ve been given 9C to teach this time. The 9th-grade textbooks are new and a bit more challenging, but I’m ready to take this on as an opportunity to grow. The complexity of the material doesn’t intimidate me; instead, it fuels my excitement to dive deeper into the subject and find creative ways to make learning engaging for my students. I can’t wait to see what this new chapter holds!

   - We created educational content using ARLOOPA, recorded the process, and uploaded the video to YouTube, demonstrating the application of augmented reality in education.

5. Presentation Generation:

   - We generated presentations using ChatGPT/Gemini and Gamma, transforming one-line ideas into comprehensive presentations, which we then shared as PDFs and PPTs.

   - We engaged in creative conversations related to our fields and shared screenshots of these interactions, highlighting the potential of AI in fostering meaningful discussions.

2. Question Paper Generation:

   - By uploading syllabi into ChatGPT/Gemini, we generated full question papers for various subjects, showcasing AI's capability in academic assessment.

3. MCQ Creation:

   - We created multiple-choice questions using Question Well and ported them into Quizizz, making interactive quizzes accessible and engaging.

Final Thoughts

The workshop was a transformative experience, providing us with the skills and knowledge to leverage AI in various aspects of education and beyond. The guidance from prominent educators and the practical applications we explored have set a solid foundation for our future endeavors in AI. We are immensely grateful to Vimal Sir and the entire organizing team for their efforts in making this workshop a success. It was an enriching journey, and we look forward to continuing our learning and growth in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
