Conscientization is crucial as it involves raising awareness and understanding of social, political, and economic injustices, enabling individuals to recognize and challenge oppression. This process fosters critical thinking and empowers people to take action for positive change.
Empowering young girls is essential for fostering their self-confidence, leadership skills, and ability to advocate for themselves and others. In today's world, it prepares them to break barriers, achieve their potential, and contribute meaningfully to society.
As part of our teaching practice, we organized a conscientization program on women empowerment on December 7th, 2023, focusing on the crucial role of girls in shaping our future society. Recognizing the importance of addressing societal issues, particularly in a girls' school setting, we chose topics such as child marriage, acid attacks, and menstrual hygiene for discussion.
In my class, I shed light on the detrimental effects of child marriage, emphasizing the significance of financial independence and education in empowering young girls to break free from such harmful practices and contribute positively to society.
Borrowing a period from our teacher, we conducted the program, providing a platform for open dialogue and critical thinking among the students. My friends and I led discussions on various aspects of women empowerment, aiming to raise awareness and instill a sense of empowerment among the girls.
Through this program, we sought to inspire the students to become agents of change in their communities, advocating for gender equality and social justice. The class proved to be enlightening and empowering, encouraging students to take proactive steps towards creating a more inclusive and equitable society.
