Three-Day National Seminar on "Inclusive Practices: A Way Forward"

Three-Day National Seminar on "Inclusive Practices: A Way Forward"

The three-day national seminar on "Inclusive Practices: A Way Forward," organized by the Centre for Learning Disabilities and Difficulties in collaboration with IQAC, Sree Narayana Training College, from 25.03.2024 to 27.03.2024. The national seminar provided valuable insights into integrating special needs students into typical classroom scenarios.

I had the opportunity to present a paper titled "Leveraging Artificial Intelligence for Inclusive Education: Promoting Accessibility, Personalization, and Equity," which highlighted innovative approaches to support inclusive education. The seminar was a worthwhile and enriching experience, filled with thought-provoking discussions and excellent presentations.

Inclusive practices in schools are essential for ensuring that every student, regardless of their abilities, has the opportunity to succeed and thrive in an equitable learning environment. By integrating students with special needs into typical classroom settings, schools can promote a culture of diversity, understanding, and mutual respect, which benefits all students and prepares them for a more inclusive society.

DIGITAL TEXT SHAFINA S

Unveiling "Invisible No More": A Journey Through Marginalized Literature and Resistance

I’m excited to share my latest project, "Invisible No More," a digital text created as part of my third semester work. This project delves into Class 10 literature focused on marginalized voices and the art of resistance, a theme I’m deeply passionate about.

Unit Overview

The text is organized into one unit with three distinct yet interconnected chapters:

1. Poem: "Still I Rise" by Maya Angelou

Maya Angelou's powerful poem serves as the opening chapter. "Still I Rise" is a timeless anthem of resilience and strength, celebrating the indomitable spirit of overcoming adversity. Angelou’s words are a testament to the unyielding courage of those who refuse to be subdued.

2. Short Story: "The Country of the Blind" by H.G. Wells

The second chapter presents H.G. Wells' thought-provoking short story, "The Country of the Blind." This narrative challenges perceptions of normalcy and ability, exploring themes of vision and blindness in both literal and metaphorical senses. The story invites readers to reflect on societal constructs and the nature of resistance against conformity.

3. Biographical Excerpt: "Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda" by Becky Albertalli

The final chapter includes a biographical excerpt from Becky Albertalli's novel, "Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda." This contemporary piece provides a personal perspective on identity and resistance, highlighting the struggles and triumphs of navigating one’s true self in a world that often demands conformity.

A Journey of Exploration

Creating "Invisible No More" was not just an academic endeavor but a journey of exploration and understanding. Each chapter was chosen to reflect different facets of resistance and marginalized experiences, aiming to foster empathy and broaden perspectives.

I hope this digital text serves as a meaningful resource and inspires readers to reflect on the powerful stories and voices that shape our understanding of resistance and identity.
