As part of the RUSA 2.0 initiative by the Central Government to enhance the learning experience, our college received a grant of 2 crores five years ago. This fund was efficiently utilized to construct new classrooms, a general hall, and a conference hall, with plans underway for installing a lift in the college in the coming years.
The formal inauguration ceremony took place on February 22, 2024, at 11 AM in the college auditorium, graced by the presence of Shri Kadakampalli Surendran, Honourable MLA Kazhakootam, and Shri Johnson Joseph, Ward Councillor, Nalanchira. They emphasized the significance of schemes like RUSA in advancing higher education.
Dr. R Bindu, Honourable Minister of Higher Education and Social Justice, officially inaugurated the function online simultaneously with numerous other colleges where the program was held. His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis Catholicos oversaw the proceedings online, while Dr. Shashi Tharoor, Honourable M.P. of Trivandrum, delivered a warm message and expressed appreciation for the new facilities. Dr. KY Benedict, the former Principal under whose tenure the project proposal was accepted, was also acknowledged online for his contribution.
Following the online ceremony, all the guests moved upstairs for the ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the completion of the construction project. The successful execution of this endeavor was attributed to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved.
