A NEW HOPE - ORIENTATION PROGRAMME ON JUNE 1

God has not called me to be successful. He called me to be faithful.”

                                                                                                                             Mother Teresa.

It was a fresh start. Being in the bed for so long and being completely frantic in the middle of exams, I lost touch with the essence of my college and with my friends. I was quite excited but at the same time afraid of the changes that I would face. But the college with new vigor and energy opened its gates once again . I met my friends and rejoiced with them.

Marking the new academic year with the invocation to god , we had a common prayer at the chapel. A good message quoting Mother Teresa was delivered by our dear Joju sir through the microphone.

Later we were asked to assemble in the college auditorium for our specially assigned orientation programme.

We were informed that our dear George sir, physical education sir got transferred onto his native place. He was happy but at the same time we were all sad for leaving him. Speeches of gratitude and best wishes were poured for George sir by the principal, teachers and chairperson. Also we had a new appointment in MEd faculty. We welcomed him to our MTTC family wholeheartedly.

A well renowned resource person from Mumbai, Dr. Asha K was invited for the orientation programme for giving us an insight into effective communication skills and its management.

With a captivating narration of an incomplete story, she asked us to complete the rest of the story by asking appropriate yes/ no questions to her. We did the same and the beginning of the class itself was interesting.

She gave us several tips to  improve our language skills mainly by diverting our attention to the main arenas of communication. She presented Dale Carnegies cardinal rules and explained the importance of knowing our audience before delivering a speech. Lastly she gave us an overall idea regarding how to analyze our speech. We also built an extempore story by contributing one sentence each which improved our confidence and fluency.

This class was followed by time management class by our dear Raghu sir , a senior faculty of MTTC. He emphasized the importance of time management and we evaluated the average time that we spent each week in various activities by answering a quiz set by sir.

At last we learnt that,

 TIME MANAGEMENT IS LIFE MANANGEMNET.

TIME AND LIFE ARE COMPLIMENTARY.

The afternoon session started with a passionate speech by our principal. He asked for our feedback which we wrote down in sheets provided. This was followed by yet another interesting speech by our Nathaniel sir who encouraged us to become good teachers in every sense.

Bindu mam, our staff advisor proposed the semester academic plan and after this we called it a day...

It was a fruitful day on many ways and we were totally motivated for the next day.
