MAR THEOPHILUS DAY CELEBRATION


"We celebrated Mar Theophilus Day, marking the 67th commemoration of the heavenly mediator, His Grace Jacob Mar Theophilus. The event was held on August 2, 2023, at 9:30 AM in the college auditorium and was a moment of reverence and inspiration. 

The chief guest, Rev. Dr. Jolly Karimbil, delivered an insightful talk on the theme of teacher excellence, emphasizing the role of educators in shaping the future. His words resonated deeply with everyone present, highlighting the importance of dedication and passion in the teaching profession. The event was a fitting tribute to the legacy of His Grace Jacob Mar Theophilus, reminding us of the enduring values of wisdom, guidance, and excellence."

ANTI DRUG AWARENESS PROGRAMME


WORLD ANTI- DRUG AWARENESS PROGRAMMME

Date: 23rd June 2023

Venue: College auditorium

As part of the World Anti-Drug Day, AGNEYA union initiated an awareness programme for the students on 23rd June 2023 at the college auditorium. The programme began by an official inauguration by the principal, chief guest, teachers and non-teaching staffs.

The chief guest of the day was Vinod Vikramadityan, sub inspector of Police SPST security wing who had led the awareness talk preventing drug addiction. He took the session in a very involved and informal manner thus interacting with the students about real life problems. He gave many real-life incidents to explain the danger underlying in using drugs.

He explained the prevalence of different drugs in our society, namely Cocaine, MDMA, Meth, mushroom etc and its ill effects of consumption. Students were the main carriers of such drugs and it was our duty as student- teachers to safeguard our society from this growing evil. Teaching strategies and techniques to eradicate this evil was explained by the speaker.

Besides this, he explained topics like violence against women, political bias in democracy, inefficiency of enforcing law and order, child abuse etc. Anti-drug oath was taken and the students clarified their doubts. The vote of thanks was delivered by Shafina. The programme winded up with the national anthem.

The Emrys English Department organized an intercollegiate letter writing competition, Tarang, which showcased a range of talented writers. The winner of the competition was Lekshmi RS from Mount Tabor College. Her exceptional writing stood out, earning her the top prize in this prestigious event.

Thank you for being such an important part of my life and for the cherished memories we created together. You’re like family to me!





KTET FIRST OFFLINE CLASS


The first KTET offline class, organized by the Emrys English Department, was conducted by Jaison and Radhika. The session focused on the topic of one-word substitution, providing valuable insights and practice for the exam. The class was an informative start to preparing for the KTET.



DRY AWARENESS



The Natural Science Association and IQAC of Mar Theophilus Training College, Nalanchira, conducted a "Dry Day Awareness" program on June 23, 2023, at 2:00 PM in the General Hall. The event aimed to raise awareness about the environmental and social impacts of alcohol consumption, emphasizing the slogan "Small bite, big threat, let's be a change."

Through informative talks and interactive activities, the program encouraged participants to make responsible choices and highlighted the importance of adopting healthier habits. The event was well-received, with active participation from both students and faculty, effectively conveying the message of personal and environmental responsibility.


KTET EMRYS


The English Department's Emrys group at Mar Theophilus Training College organized a comprehensive KTET training and orientation session for students. The preparation involved a lot of meticulous planning and a thorough review of the syllabus to ensure that everyone was well-equipped for the exam. The session was aimed at guiding students through the key aspects of the KTET, providing them with the necessary tools and strategies to succeed.

For the Father’s Day celebrations, the Physical Science Department organized a selfie contest where participants were invited to post a selfie with their fathers. The best selfie would win a prize. Here’s my submission:

On June 22, 2023, the MED department seniors hosted the SIA Symphony Origramme to celebrate World Music Day with a lively array of activities, including a challenging music quiz, heartfelt dedications, and a captivating tableau. The event beautifully highlighted the universal appeal of music, bringing together participants in a spirited celebration that showcased both their knowledge and passion for the art form. The day was a vibrant testament to music's power to unite and inspire.

NATIONAL INTEGRATION ASSEMBLY

"Unity in diversity is the essence of our nation, where many voices come together to sing one harmonious song."

The Social Science Department's VEAGA group at Mar Theophilus Training College organized a National Integration Assembly, focusing on the theme of unity in diversity. The assembly featured the news, pledge, and thought for the day, all centered around the importance of national integration. 
What made this event truly special was that each program was presented in different Indian languages, including Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Punjabi, and more. This multilingual approach beautifully highlighted the rich cultural diversity of India while reinforcing the message of unity and togetherness.





YOGA DAY CELEBRATIONS

On July 21, 2023, Mar Theophilus Training College celebrated Yoga Day, emphasizing the significance of yoga in cultivating physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. To inculcate the importance of yoga and encourage regular practice, we had the privilege of hosting Thomas Sir, the former principal of Sarvodaya Vidyalaya and a member of THEOSA. His session highlighted how yoga can transform one's life by promoting balance, focus, and inner peace, inspiring all of us to incorporate it into our daily routines.
